Kim Engles

Associate Director / Instructor / Competition Choreographer


Ms. Kim has over 15 years of dance training in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Tumbling. She has won numerous awards as a competitive dancer. Growing up locally gave her the opportunity to be trained by Ms. Crystal and Ms. Megan!

Ms. Kim is celebrating her 2nd season on staff with Be Famous Dance Center.

Jillian Tucker

Substitute Instructor / Office Assistant


Mrs. Jillian grew up dancing locally. She is a mother of two and a preschool teacher. When she is not at the studio, she enjoys spending time with her family and church.

Ashley Adkins

Customer Relations


Ms. Ashley has a passion for helping others! She is a wonderful asset to our dance family from assisting customers at the front desk to helping organize the details behind the scences. Ashley also manages our social media platforms.

Katie Caldwell

Associate Director / Instructor / Competition Choreographer

Katie Caldwell is from Charlotte, NC. She has been dancing since she was just a little girl and pursuing a career in performing arts as long as she can remember. She has participated in many nationwide dance competitions, receiving numerous awards, top ten placements, and scholarships. She was awarded a scholarship to and has attended Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Summer Intensive in New York and was awarded a scholarship to the American Dance Festival in Durham, NC. Most recently, Katie has been featured in the Carolina Voices Singing Christmas Tree as well as in their Spring Showcase, She served as a dancer and the assistant to Ms. Burgin-Peters and Mr. Eddie Mabry for Soomo Publishing’s “Bad Romance/Women’s suffrage” music video released for Women’s History Month, She performed for The Charlotte Pride Awards, featured in Harris Teeter commercials, and has danced with Martha Connerton’s Kinetic Works. Katelyn continues to study and is pursuing a career in the professional dance world but while she continues her own education she loves sharing her knowledge with her students hoping to inspire and also be inspired by the kids.

Jessica Hess

Associate Director / Instructor

Jessica has 17 years of dance experience in a variety of disciplines and 5 years of teaching all age groups. She originated in a family owned studio in northwest NY which provided her the opportunity to perform on multiple cruises and at Disney World. Her true loves are animals (especially horses) and dance. She took dance classes through college while studying veterinary medicine technology and now has a career in emergency vet medicine. She has been in North Carolina since 2014 and has finally found a home at Be Famous Dance Center.

Crystal Wilson

Associate Director / Instructor / Competition Choreographer

Crystal has been dancing for 24 years, and teaching for 15 years. She studied ballet and pointe extensively, training in the Royal Academy and Cecchetti methods and examinations, receiving high honors. Crystal performed many roles in the Union County Youth Ballet's Nutcracker Ballet, including Snow Queen, Arabian, and Dew Drop. With UCYB, she also performed the roles of the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Aunt Em in The Wizard of Oz, and The Summer Fairy in Cinderella. Crystal has also studied jazz, tap, contemporary, and modern, and participated in many workshops and master classes with the likes of Alex Little, Doug Caldwell, David Wilcox, Suzy Miller, Mark Meismer, Mariclair Miranda of Columbia City Ballet, and Sandra Burnham of the Royal Academy of Dance.

Crystal's students and choreography have been recognized at many regional dance competitions for "Best Choreography" and performance and entertainment awards.

Crystal feels incredibly blessed to be able to teach and share her passion for dance, and hopes to inspire all of her students to be their best.

Megan Hildreth Hertzog

2017 National Teacher of the Year


Megan has been dancing and professionally performing for over 25 years and attended the California Pacific College of Performing Arts. Megan is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, cheer, and gymnastics. As a dancer, she has won many regional and national titles at various dance competitions across the country and her competition choreography has also won many awards. Megan has held teaching positions at D & S Talent, The Young Americans, Carolina Dance Company, Eddie Mabry Talent, Fascinating Rhythm Studio, and is the local franchise owner of Webby Dance Company.

She has performed with Disney Channel star Ashley Argota, Brandon Jarrett, and Royal Caribbean Stars at Sea, as well as performances with Disneyland, Tokyo Disney, The Singing Christmas Tree, The Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra, and several events with JBP Entertainment. She has also appeared in the video - Heidi Jarrett’s Fuzion. Megan was a member of The Young Americans in California for 3 years. During her time with The Young Americans, she was a cast member for USA, Japan, and Germany tours where she taught classes at all conventions, as well as assisted master teachers at Dance Excellence in Los Angeles.
