Stephanie Whited

Associate Director / Instructor / Competition Choreographer

Stephanie has been dancing since she was three years old. Her dance training is in tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, pointe, and modern techniques. She spent nine years competing both regionally and nationally while earning numerous awards and honors. She has performed for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Knot's Berry Farms, Disney Land, and Carowinds, as well as Dance Excellence convention in Los Angeles, California. She is a recent graduate from Appalachian State University where she received training in modern dance and dance pedagogy. She was a member of the Entropy Dance crew at ASU, and also led a dance team at Keele University, whilst studying in the UK.

Ms. Stephanie is celebrating her 4th season on staff with Be Famous Dance Center.

Katie Caldwell

Associate Director / Instructor / Competition Choreographer

Katie Caldwell is from Charlotte, NC. She has been dancing since she was just a little girl and pursuing a career in performing arts as long as she can remember. She has participated in many nationwide dance competitions, receiving numerous awards, top ten placements, and scholarships. She was awarded a scholarship to and has attended Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Summer Intensive in New York and was awarded a scholarship to the American Dance Festival in Durham, NC. Most recently, Katie has been featured in the Carolina Voices Singing Christmas Tree as well as in their Spring Showcase, She served as a dancer and the assistant to Ms. Jena Burgin-Peters and Mr. Eddie Mabry for Soomo Publishing’s “Bad Romance/Women’s suffrage” music video released for Women’s History Month, She performed for The Charlotte Pride Awards, featured in Harris Teeter commercials, and has danced with Martha Connerton’s Kinetic Works. Katie continues to study and is pursuing a career in the professional dance world but while she continues her own education she loves sharing her knowledge with her students hoping to inspire and also be inspired by her students.

Rebecca Taggio

Associate Director / Instructor / Choreographer

Rebecca is from Matthews, North Carolina. She has been dancing for 13 years; 4 years competitively. She was previously a member of the competition team at Carolina Dance Company. She is trained in tap, ballet, jazz, and contemporary. Rebecca graduated from Parkwood High School and is a member of the Be Famous Dance Center Competition Team. Rebecca has performed with Be Famous Dance Center in the Harlem Globe Trotters half time show at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and the Grand Ole Opry Invitational Performance in Nashville, TN.

Ms. Rebecca is celebrating her 2nd season on staff with Be Famous Dance Center.

Lauren Bannon

Associate Director / Instructor / Choreographer

Lauren Bannon has over 25 years of dance training in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, hip hop, gymnastics, contemporary, lyrical, and cheer. Lauren received training at Bontia's School of Ballet in the Royal Academy method. She also trained at D&S Talent and Carolina Dance Company where she was a member of the competition team, winning various group, duet, and solo awards. Lauren has performed with the Union County Youth Ballet in the Nutcracker under numerous roles such as Rat King, Bon Bon’s, Clara’s Angels, Party girl, Snow, and Waltz ensembles. Her other performances with the Union County Youth Ballet include Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and a featured role as the Lion in The Wizard of Oz and the Genie from Aladdin. Lauren has apperared in local performances for charity fundraisers and the Arboretum Tree Lighting, as well as performances at Dance Excellence and Knott’s Berry Farm in Los Angeles, California.

Destiny Dennis

Associate Director / Instructor

Destiny Dennis is from China Grove, North Carolina. This is where she first dreamed of being a dancer and a dance teacher. She spent 15 years dancing competitively with a studio in China Grove where she studied jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, gymnastics, improv, hip hop, and contemporary. She won numerous awards and titles and also had the chance to travel all over the United States. After graduating high school, her dream of becoming a dance teacher came true. She worked with a studio in Wadesboro for a year teaching recreational ballet, jazz, and tumbling. Her experiences led her to Be Famous Dance Center where she choreographed 3 recreational dances consisting of senior hip hop, mini ballet, and tiny gymnastics. She also taught 4 competitive solos of jazz and lyrical. When dance doesn't completely consume Destiny's life, you can find her teaching 3rd grade at a nearby public school.

Crystal Wilson

Associate Director / Instructor / Competition Choreographer

*Certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) Instructor*

Crystal has been dancing for 24 years, and teaching for 15 years. She studied ballet and pointe extensively, training in the Royal Academy and Cecchetti methods and examinations, receiving high honors. Crystal performed many roles in the Union County Youth Ballet's Nutcracker Ballet, including Snow Queen, Arabian, and Dew Drop. With UCYB, she also performed the roles of the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Aunt Em in The Wizard of Oz, and The Summer Fairy in Cinderella. Crystal has also studied jazz, tap, contemporary, and modern, and participated in many workshops and master classes with the likes of Alex Little, Doug Caldwell, David Wilcox, Suzy Miller, Mark Meismer, Mariclair Miranda of Columbia City Ballet, and Sandra Burnham of the Royal Academy of Dance.

Crystal's students and choreography have been recognized at many regional dance competitions for "Best Choreography" and performance and entertainment awards.

Crystal feels incredibly blessed to be able to teach and share her passion for dance, and hopes to inspire all of her students to be their best.

Megan Hildreth Hertzog

Owner / Director / Instructor / Competition Choreographer

2017 National Teacher of the Year

Megan has been dancing and professionally performing for over 25 years and attended the California Pacific College of Performing Arts. Megan is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, cheer, and gymnastics. As a dancer, she has won many regional and national titles at various dance competitions across the country and her competition choreography has also won many awards. Megan has held teaching positions at D & S Talent, The Young Americans, Carolina Dance Company, Eddie Mabry Talent, Fascinating Rhythm Studio, and is the local franchise owner of Webby Dance Company.

She has performed with Disney Channel star Ashley Argota, Brandon Jarrett, and Royal Caribbean Stars at Sea, as well as performances with Disneyland, Tokyo Disney, The Singing Christmas Tree, The Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra, and several events with JBP Entertainment. She has also appeared in the video - Heidi Jarrett’s Fuzion. Megan was a member of The Young Americans in California for 3 years. During her time with The Young Americans, she was a cast member for USA, Japan, and Germany tours where she taught classes at all conventions, as well as assisted master teachers at Dance Excellence in Los Angeles.
