Studio Policy Disclaimer

Our policies were created and instilled to allow us to offer the highest quality instruction at the most affordable price in the area. In order for us to be able to offer the same services to everyone that walks through our door, we are unable to make exceptions to any of our policies or fees. Please read over each policy carefully as all of our policies and fees are covered to eliminate any gray areas.

Arrival and Departure

Students should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before their scheduled class time and be picked up no more than 10 minutes after the class ends. Studio doors will be unlocked 10 minutes before the first class of the day.  Students are not allowed to wait outside for parents and should be cautioned against doing so. Dancers age 12 & under are not to be left in the lobby unattended before classes begin, and must have a parent come inside the studio to pick up dancers.

Auto Draft Authorization Agreement & Payment Methods

I hereby authorize Be Famous Dance Center, LLC to collect monthly tuition from the credit card account listed below. I am aware that this will occur on the first of each month. In efforts to avoid late fees, all accounts must be set up on auto-draft with a Visa or MasterCard. Any accounts with an outstanding balance on the 7th of each month will assess a non-waivable $25 late fee.  If you would like to avoid drafts being taken out, you may pay using a different payment method before the due date. We accept checks, exact cash, Visa, and MasterCard at the studio; or Visa and MasterCard through your customer portal. Our online credit card gateway provider is PCI-compliant and uses a variety of techniques to provide "state of the art Level 1 PCI certified processing and storage of account data."

Behavior & Bullying Policy

In today’s society, bullying and disrespectful behavior have become increasingly prevalent, making it necessary for us to have a zero-tolerance policy on such behaviors. A zero-tolerance bullying and disrespectful behavior policy is a studio-wide agreement that sets expectations and consequences for students who choose to bully or behave disrespectfully. This policy is to be enforced by all staff, students, and parents.

Bullying and disrespectful behaviors are defined as, but not limited to, name-calling, mocking, body shaming, tampering or destroying another's or studio property, cursing/swearing, inappropriate hand gestures, causing physical harm to one's self or others, blatant disregard to instructor/staff instructions, etc.

1st offense:  Verbal discussion with parents.

2nd offense:  A written warning to parents.

3rd offense:  Immediate dismissal from all enrollments at Be Famous Dance Center.

Our goal in enforcing such a policy is to ensure that everyone feels safe, loved, and welcomed by all members of Be Famous Dance Center!

Class Placement

Students are assigned to classes according to their ability level and not necessarily by age or number of years of dance. During the first six weeks of class, students are evaluated on their progress. If a teacher feels it would benefit a child's individual needs to be placed in another class, you will be notified. Students often remain in the same dance level for multiple years as some levels require more than one year to master. Students who remain in the same class from one year to the next are always provided new class material and challenges to refine their skills. Please feel free to discuss your child's progress with us at any time.

Competition Program

Our award-winning competition dance teams consist of dancers spanning the ages of 4-18, with multiple teams: Future Stars, Rising Stars, and Super Stars. Each year, dancers attend auditions, choreography workshops, and technique classes. Parents must attend the Mandatory Parent Meeting on May 15, 2024 at 7pm.  Students must audition on June 17th, 2024 to be considered for these positions. If selected, each dancer puts in numerous hours of rigorous class time and special rehearsals. Please email the studio for more detailed information.

Costumes, Picture Day, & Dress Rehearsal/Recital Information

Costume Information:

Holiday Recital (Dec) - Costumes are property of BFDC and will be dispersed and collected at the Holiday Show.

Annual Recital (June) - These costumes are included in your monthly tuition and yours to keep! Students will be measured for costumes during the first week of January during their regular scheduled class time. Please make every effort to have your dancer present. If a student misses measurement day, it is your responsibility to make sure we get measurements. Growth considerations are given to all measurements. Costume fees are included in your monthly tuition. Costumes include the costume, all accessories, and tights. Once costumes arrive, you will receive an email notice to pick up your costume from the office provided your account is up-to-date through the end of the dance year (June). If costumes need alterations, it is the student/parent's responsibility to arrange alterations. Should your child discontinue classes once costumes have been ordered, they will forfeit their costume to allow another student to fill in their place in the routine.

Picture Day is in June.  We will have a professional photographer at the studio to take group and individual photos during regular class time. Packages and composites are available for purchase. This is considered a preliminary dress rehearsal and each student must attend even if you do not wish to purchase pictures. A detailed schedule will be available in May. All dancers are required to attend picture day and participate in the class group photo. You must have the correct style and color shoes at this time or you will not be allowed to participate in pictures. No parents will be allowed in the photography room while recital photos are being taken. This way, we can keep the students focused without distractions resulting from large crowds and excessive noise. This will result in better-quality photographs.

Dress Rehearsal/Recital:

Dress Rehearsal and Recital are tentatively scheduled for December and June. Times and locations will be communicated via email and posted to our announcement screen once confirmed. The Recital Portal will be fully updated by May which includes all Recital details. Recital tickets go on sale May 15th. Tickets are in great demand and sold on a first come first serve basis, so please get them as soon as possible. Dancers will not need a ticket, as they will not be permitted in the audience. Please note that only verified volunteers are permitted in the dressing areas and backstage. (Note: All accounts must be paid in full, including May tuition, to purchase tickets.) Flash photography will not be permitted during the recital, however, you will be allowed to take pictures (no flash) and videotape at the dress rehearsal. Dress Rehearsal is a mandatory rehearsal. Students who do not attend will not be allowed to participate in the recital. Please make your plans accordingly.

Customer Portal

All active families with a valid email address on file may access their account detail at any time via the BFDC Customer Portal. First time users must enter the email address they provided at registration and click on the "I don't know my password" link. A temporary password will be emailed to you immediately, giving you access to the portal. The portal allows you to update contact and student information, update credit card information, register for classes, email us, change your password, etc. Online security is very important to us, and we've chosen a studio management program that adheres to all the rules of the Card Holder Information Security Program. All of the information you provide via the Customer Portal is password-protected and encrypted.

Delinquent Accounts

Any account that falls more than 30 days past due is considered delinquent.  Dancers will be dismissed from classes at this point, and able to return to classes once the account has been paid in full and reinstated.

Discontinued Classes

Students who drop after classes begin must provide written notice two weeks prior to dropping class. Phone calls and voicemail messages are not acceptable. Tuition charges are based on the date of written notice, not the last class attended. You will be charged monthly tuition until written notification is received. Dancers who enroll and then decide to drop their classes will not receive a refund for paid tuition. If you discontinue between the dates of Feb 1st - June 30th of the current season, full tuition will be due for the remainder of the dance year. The credit card on file will be charged the remaining balance on the account at the time of discontinuation. Please note that by signing the registration form/contract, you agree to these terms.

Missed Classes / Absences

All absences should be reported through the Customer Portal. This method will ensure you're your dancer's teacher is notified of their absence in a timely manner. Missed classes may be made up in another class of the same or similar level within one month of the absence and must be scheduled through the customer portal. Make up classes are discontinued after instructors begin teaching dance recital routines (January). If a student has more than 4 absences after an instructor begins teaching a dance routine, the student must schedule private lessons to learn choreography and pay the private lesson fee of $30.00/half hour. If a student fails to attend private lessons, they will not be allowed to participate in our annual recital and will forfeit all related fees that have been paid. For weather related closures, please check the Band app after 1:00 pm for a message regarding class status. In general, we close when Union County Public Schools close, but since we have students in several school districts, it is best to check the Band app for verification. Classes closed due to inclement weather are not made up.
